^6 (A)Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
My ears You have opened.
Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

⁷ “Hear, O My people, and I will speak,
O Israel, and I will testify against you;
^(A)I am God, your God!
^8 (B)I will not ^[a]rebuke you ^(C)for your sacrifices
Or your burnt offerings,
Which are continually before Me.
^9 (D)I will not take a bull from your house,
Nor goats out of your folds.

³ “He^(A) who kills a bull is as if he slays a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he ^(B)breaks a dog’s neck;
He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood;
He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol.
Just as they have chosen their own ways,
And their soul delights in their abominations,

²¹ “I^(A) hate, I despise your feast days,
And ^(B)I do not savor your sacred assemblies.

⁶ With what shall I come before the Lord,
And bow myself before the High God?
Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings,
With calves a year old?
