^9 (A)He will not always chide,
    nor will he ^(B)keep his anger for ever.

²⁶ then man^{[a] (A)}prays to God, and he accepts him;
    he ^(B)sees his face with a shout of joy,
and he ^(C)restores to man his righteousness.

²⁰ Come, my people, enter your chambers,
    and shut your doors behind you;
hide yourselves ^(A)for a little while
    until the fury has passed by.

^7 (A)For a brief moment I deserted you,
    but with great compassion I will gather you.
^8 (B)In overflowing anger for a moment
    I hid my face from you,
^(C)but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,”
