⁹The Lord is a refuge^(A) for the oppressed,^(B)
a stronghold in times of trouble.^(C)

⁹The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

⁷“Here now is the man
who did not make God his stronghold^(A)
but trusted in his great wealth^(B)
and grew strong by destroying others!”

⁷Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
