¹⁷ The chariots^(A) of God are tens of thousands
    and thousands of thousands;^(B)
    the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.^[a]

²⁸ Their arrows are sharp,^(A)
    all their bows^(B) are strung;
their horses’ hooves^(C) seem like flint,
    their chariot wheels like a whirlwind.^(D)

⁸ Were you angry with the rivers,^(A) Lord?
    Was your wrath against the streams?
Did you rage against the sea^(B)
    when you rode your horses
    and your chariots to victory?^(C)
