⁹ The nobles of the peoples have assembled
with the people of the God of Abraham.^(A)
For the leaders^[a] of the earth belong to God;
he is greatly exalted.^(B)

⁶ “I am the Lord. I have called you
for a righteous purpose,^[a](A)
and I will hold you by your hand.^(B)
I will watch over you, and I will appoint you
to be a covenant for the people^(C)
and a light to the nations,^(D)

² and many nations will come and say,^(A)
“Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the Lord,^(B)
to the house of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us about his ways^(C)
so we may walk in his paths.”
For instruction will go out of Zion^(D)
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
