Christian Standard Bible

7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.(A)
Therefore my heart celebrates,
and I give thanks to him with my song.(B)

8 The Lord is the strength of his people;[a]
he is a stronghold of salvation for his anointed.(C)
9 Save your people, bless your possession,
shepherd them, and carry them forever.(D)

My heart leaps for joy,(C)
    and with my song I praise him.(D)

8 The Lord is the strength(E) of his people,
    a fortress of salvation(F) for his anointed one.(G)
