6 Bless the Lord
    because he has listened to my request for mercy!
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield.
    My heart trusts him.
        I was helped, my heart rejoiced,
            and I thank him with my song.
8 The Lord is his people’s strength;
    he is a fortress of protection for his anointed one.

6 Praise be to the Lord,(A)
    for he has heard my cry for mercy.(B)
7 The Lord is my strength(C) and my shield;
    my heart trusts(D) in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,(E)
    and with my song I praise him.(F)

8 The Lord is the strength(G) of his people,
    a fortress of salvation(H) for his anointed one.(I)
