5 The Lord will try the righteous; but the wicked, and him that loveth iniquity, doth his soul hate.

6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, [a]fire, and brimstone, and stormy tempest; this is the [b]portion of their cup.

7 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness: his countenance doth behold the just.

    he hates with a passion.(B)
6 On the wicked he will rain
    fiery coals and burning sulfur;(C)
    a scorching wind(D) will be their lot.

7 For the Lord is righteous,(E)
    he loves justice;(F)
    the upright(G) will see his face.(H)
