Proverbs 22:7-9

⁷Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender.

⁸The unjust tyrant will reap disaster, and his reign of terror shall end.

⁹Happy is the generous man, the one who feeds the poor.

Proverbs 22:7-9

New International Version

⁷The rich rule over the poor,
and the borrower is slave to the lender.

⁸Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity,^(A)
and the rod they wield in fury will be broken.^(B)

⁹The generous will themselves be blessed,^(C)
for they share their food with the poor.^(D)
