12 A prophecy:^(A) The word of the Lord concerning Israel.

The Lord, who stretches out the heavens,^(B) who lays the foundation of the earth,^(C) and who forms the human spirit within a person,^(D) declares:

²⁵ And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.^(A)

²⁸ ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’^[a](A) As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’^[b]
