⁶³ But ^(A)Jesus kept silent. ^(B)And the high priest said to Him, “I ^(C)place You under oath by ^(D)the living God, to tell us whether You are the ^[a]Christ, ^(E)the Son of God.”

¹² And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, ^(A)He did not offer any answer.

¹⁴ And still ^(A)He did not answer him in regard to even a single ^[a]charge, so the governor was greatly amazed.

³⁴ Jesus answered, “Are you saying this ^[a]on your own, or did others tell you about Me?” ³⁵ Pilate answered, “I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests handed You over to me; what have You done?” ³⁶ Jesus answered, “^(A)My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not ^[b]of this realm.” ³⁷ Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “^(B)You say correctly that I am a king. For this purpose I have been born, and for this I have come into the world: ^(C)to testify to the truth. ^(D)Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”
