²² “I tell you, not as many as seven,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven.^[a]

²⁴ Therefore I tell you, everything you pray^(A) and ask for^(B)—believe that you have received^[a](C) it and it will be yours.

¹³ Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified^(A) in the Son.^{(B) 14} If you ask me^[a] anything in my name,^(C) I will do it.^[b](D)

⁷ If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.^(A)

²⁴ Until now you have asked for nothing in my name.^(A) Ask and you will receive,^(B) so that your joy may be complete.^(C)

⁵ Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him.^(A)

²² and receive whatever we ask from him because we keep his commands^(A) and do what is pleasing in his sight.

Effective Prayer

¹⁴ This is the confidence we have before him: If we ask^(A) anything according to his will, he hears us.^(B)
