¹⁰ There He saw a man who had a paralyzed hand. And in order to accuse Him they asked Him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”^(A)

¹⁴ But the leader of the synagogue, indignant^(A) because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, responded by telling the crowd, “There are six days when work should be done;^(B) therefore come on those days and be healed and not on the Sabbath day.”

³ In response, Jesus asked the law experts^(A) and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”^(B)

¹⁰ so the Jews^(A) said to the man who had been healed, “This is the Sabbath!^(B) It’s illegal for you to pick up your mat.”

²³ If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath^(A) so that the law of Moses^(B) won’t be broken, are you angry at Me because I made a man entirely well on the Sabbath?

¹⁶ Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God,^(A) for He doesn’t keep the Sabbath!” But others were saying, “How can a sinful man^(B) perform such signs?” And there was a division^(C) among them.
