²³ Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have wealth^(A) to enter the kingdom of God!”^(B)

⁹ But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root^[a] of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith^(A) and pierced themselves with many pains.

¹⁰ for Demas^(A) has deserted me,^(B) because he loved this present world, and has gone to Thessalonica.^(C) Crescens has gone to Galatia,^(D) Titus^(E) to Dalmatia.
