11 Now Jesus was stood[a] in front of the governor. And the governor questioned Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And Jesus said, “You are saying[b] it”.

- Matthew 27:11 Or, was made to stand.
- Matthew 27:11 Some think this simply means ‘Yes’. Others think it is deliberately understated. Though Jesus means ‘you are saying it correctly’, He leaves Pilate to supply this intent, which he does based on the Jewish accusers. Jesus may have answered this way because ‘King of the Jews’ meant something different to Pilate than to Jesus.
