14 But Pilate said to them, “Why, what [a]evil has He done?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify Him!” 15 Intent on satisfying the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them, and after having Jesus (A)flogged, he handed Him over to be crucified.
Jesus Is Mocked
16 (B)Now the soldiers took Him away into (C)the [b]palace (that is, the Praetorium), and they *called together the whole Roman [c](D)cohort.

14 “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”
15 Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged,(A) and handed him over to be crucified.
The Soldiers Mock Jesus(B)
16 The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace(C) (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers.
