³⁴ And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed ^(A)for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign ^(B)that is opposed

³⁹ Jesus said, ^(A)“For judgement I came into this world, ^(B)that those who do not see may see, and ^(C)those who see may become blind.”

⁷ So the honour is for you who ^(A)believe, but for those who ^(B)do not believe,

They stumble because they disobey the word, ^(E)as they were destined to do.
