³⁶ You must be like people waiting for their master^(A) to return^[a] from the wedding banquet^(B) so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once.^(C)

⁷ so that you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait^(A) for the revelation^(B) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ and to wait^(A) for His Son^(B) from heaven, whom He raised from the dead^(C)—Jesus, who rescues us^(D) from the coming wrath.^(E)

¹³ while we wait for the blessed hope^(A) and appearing of the glory^(B) of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God,^(A) expecting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.
