25 But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when (A)the heavens were shut up three years and six months, and a great famine came over all the land,
25 I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land.(A)
17 Elijah was a man (A)with a nature like ours, and (B)he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for (C)three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.
17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are.(A) He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.(B)
18 (A)After many days the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain upon the earth.”
18 After a long time, in the third(A) year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “Go and present(B) yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain(C) on the land.”
