²⁷ Some of the Sadducees (who say there is no resurrection) came to him. ²⁸ They asked him a question, “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies leaving a wife but no children, his brother should take the wife and raise up children for his brother.^{[a] 29} So there were seven brothers. The first took a wife and died childless.
