³³ I will scatter^(A) you among the nations^(B) and will draw out my sword^(C) and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste,^(D) and your cities will lie in ruins.^(E)

¹³ While you were doing all these things, declares the Lord, I spoke^(A) to you again and again,^(B) but you did not listen;^(C) I called^(D) you, but you did not answer.^{(E) 14} Therefore, what I did to Shiloh^(F) I will now do to the house that bears my Name,^(G) the temple^(H) you trust in, the place I gave to you and your ancestors. ¹⁵ I will thrust you from my presence,^(I) just as I did all your fellow Israelites, the people of Ephraim.’^(J)

²³ And the nations will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.^(A)
