³ “If his gift is a burnt offering^(A) from the herd, he is to bring an unblemished male.^(B) He must bring it to the entrance to the tent of meeting so that he^[a] may be accepted by the Lord.^{(C) 4} He is to lay his hand on^(D) the head of the burnt offering so it can be accepted^(E) on his behalf to make atonement for him.^{(F) 5} He is to slaughter the bull before the Lord; Aaron’s sons the priests^(G) are to present the blood^(H) and sprinkle it^(I) on all sides of the altar that is at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

³ “If the anointed priest^[a](A) sins, bringing guilt^(B) on the people, he is to present to the Lord a young, unblemished^(C) bull as a sin^[b] offering^(D) for the sin he has committed. ⁴ He must bring the bull to the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord, lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter it before the Lord.
