¹⁵ And the bramble said to the trees,
‘If in truth you anoint me as king over you,
Then come and take shelter in my ^(A)shade;
But if not, ^(B)let fire come out of the bramble
And devour the ^(C)cedars of Lebanon!’

¹⁶ The trees of the Lord are full of sap,
The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,

¹³ Upon all ^(A)the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up,
And upon all the oaks of Bashan;

^8 (A)Indeed the cypress trees rejoice over you,
And the cedars of Lebanon,
Saying, ‘Since you ^[a]were cut down,
No woodsman has come up against us.’
