¹⁵ But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or ^(A)the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

¹⁴ Then he said, “^(A)I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of armies; for the sons of Israel have abandoned Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they have sought to take my life.”

^18 (A)Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not ^(B)kissed him.”

²⁸ Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, “Blessed be the ^(A)God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who has ^(B)sent His angel and rescued His servants who put their ^(C)trust in Him, ^[a]violating the king’s command, and surrendered their bodies ^(D)rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.
