² This man came to Him at night and said, “Rabbi,^(A) we know that You have come from God^(B) as a teacher,^(C) for no one could perform these signs You do unless God were with him.”^(D)

³¹ However, many from the crowd believed in Him and said, “When the Messiah comes, He won’t perform more signs than this man has done,^(A) will He?”

³² Throughout history^[a] no one has ever heard of someone opening the eyes of a person born blind.^(A)

³² Jesus replied, “I have shown you many good works^(A) from the Father. Which of these works are you stoning Me for?”

³⁷ If I am not doing My Father’s works,^(A) don’t believe Me.
