Jesus before Pilate

²⁸ Then^(A) they took Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters.^(B) It was early morning. They did not enter the headquarters themselves; otherwise they would be defiled and unable to eat the Passover.

³³ Then Pilate went back into the headquarters, summoned Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”^(A)

⁹ He went back into the headquarters^(A) and asked Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus did not give him an answer.^(B)

³⁵ he said, “I will give you a hearing whenever your accusers get here too.” And he ordered that he be kept under guard in Herod’s palace.^(A)

¹³ so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard,^[a] and to everyone else, that my imprisonment is in the cause of Christ.
