^31 (A)Now judgment is upon this world; now ^(B)the ruler of this world will be cast out.

²⁷ but ^(A)God has chosen the foolish things of ^(B)the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of ^(C)the world to shame the things which are strong, ²⁸ and the ^[a]insignificant things of ^(D)the world and the despised God has chosen, ^(E)the things that are not, so that He may ^(F)nullify the things that are, ²⁹ so that ^(G)no ^[b]human may boast before God. ³⁰ But it is ^[c]due to Him that you are in ^(H)Christ Jesus, who became to us ^(I)wisdom from God, ^[d]and ^(J)righteousness and ^(K)sanctification, and ^(L)redemption, ³¹ so that, just as it is written: “^(M)Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

² Or ^(A)do you not know that ^(B)the ^[a]saints will judge ^(C)the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to form the smallest ^[b]law courts?

³² But when we are judged, we are ^(A)disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with ^(B)the world.

⁴ You ^(A)adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with ^(B)the world is ^(C)hostility toward God? ^(D)Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
