^16 (A)These things His disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus ^(B)was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things for Him.

²³ But Jesus *answered them by saying, “^(A)The hour has come for the Son of Man to ^(B)be glorified.

³¹ Therefore when he had left, Jesus *said, “Now ^[a]is ^(A)the Son of Man ^(B)glorified, and ^(C)God ^[b]is glorified in Him; ^32 [c]if God is glorified in Him, ^(D)God will also glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately. ^33 (E)Little children, I am still with you ^(F)a little longer. ^(G)You will look for Me; and just as I said to the ^[d]Jews, now I also say to you: ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’ ³⁴ I am giving you a ^(H)new commandment, ^(I)that you love one another; ^(J)just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. ^35 (K)By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”

³⁶ Simon Peter *said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered, “^(L)Where I am going, you cannot follow Me now; but ^(M)you will follow later.” ³⁷ Peter *said to Him, “Lord, why can I not follow You right now? ^(N)I will lay down my life for You.” ³⁸ Jesus *replied, “Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly I say to you, ^(O)a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times.

¹⁴ He will ^(A)glorify Me, for He will take from Mine and will disclose it to you.
