²² But He drags off the mighty by ^(A)His power;
He rises, but ^(B)no one has assurance of life.

²⁴ He breaks in pieces the ^(A)mighty without investigation,
And sets others in their place.
²⁵ Therefore He ^(B)knows their deeds,
And ^(C)He overthrows them in the night,
And they are crushed.
²⁶ He ^(D)strikes them like the wicked
^[a]In a public place,
²⁷ Because they ^(E)turned aside from following Him,
And ^(F)had no regard for any of His ways,
²⁸ So that they caused ^(G)the cry of the poor to come to Him,
And that He would ^(H)hear the cry of the afflicted—

⁹ “Because of the ^(A)multitude of oppressions they cry out;
They cry for help because of the arm ^(B)of the mighty.
