40 Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.
6 I will make it a wasteland,(A) neither pruned nor cultivated, and briers and thorns(B) will grow there.I will command the clouds not to rain(C) on it.”
6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed.(A) In the end it will be burned.
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
