¹⁹ For a voice of ^(A)wailing is heard from Zion:
‘^(B)How devastated we are!
We are put to great shame,
For we have ^(C)abandoned the land
Because they have torn down our homes.’”

⁹ She who ^(A)gave birth to seven sons withers away;
^[a]Her breathing is labored.
Her ^(B)sun has set while it was still day;
She has been ^(C)shamed and humiliated.
So I will ^(D)turn over their survivors to the sword
Before their enemies,” declares the Lord.

²² The wind will sweep away all your ^(A)shepherds,
And your ^(B)lovers will go into captivity;
Then you will certainly be ^(C)ashamed and humiliated
Because of all your wickedness.
