False Prophets

¹³ But I said, “Oh, Lord ^[a]God! Behold, the prophets are telling them, ‘You ^(A)will not see a sword, nor will you have famine; on the contrary, I will give you lasting ^(B)peace in this place.’” ¹⁴ Then the Lord said to me, “The ^(C)prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. ^(D)I have neither sent them nor commanded them, nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a ^(E)false vision, divination, futility, and the deception of their own ^[b]minds.

¹⁰ It is definitely because they have ^(A)misled My people by saying, ‘^(B)Peace!’ when there is ^(C)no peace. And when anyone builds a wall, behold, they plaster it over with whitewash;
