³ O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth?
^(A)You have struck them down,
    but they felt no anguish;
you have consumed them,
    but they refused to take correction.
^(B)They have made their faces harder than rock;
    they have refused to repent.

¹³ The people ^(A)did not turn to him who struck them,
    nor enquire of the Lord of hosts.

⁶ “I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities,
    and ^(A)lack of bread in all your places,
^(B)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.

⁸ so two or three cities ^(A)would wander to another city
    to drink water, and would not be satisfied;
^(B)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.
^9 (C)“I struck you with blight and mildew;
    your many gardens and your vineyards,
    your fig trees and your olive trees ^(D)the locust devoured;
^(E)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.
¹⁰ “I sent among you a pestilence ^(F)after the manner of Egypt;
    I killed your young men with the sword,
and ^(G)carried away your horses,^[a]
    and ^(H)I made the stench of your camp go up into your nostrils;
^(I)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.
¹¹ “I overthrew some of you,
    ^(J)as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
    and you were ^(K)as a brand^[b] plucked out of the burning;
^(L)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.
