²⁸ Yet ^(A)a small number who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone to the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose words will stand, Mine or theirs.

^2 (A)You shall burn with fire one-third in the midst of ^(B)the city, when ^(C)the days of the siege are finished; then you shall take one-third and strike around it with the sword, and one-third you shall scatter in the wind: I will draw out a sword after ^(D)them.

^12 (A)One-third of you shall die of the pestilence, and be consumed with famine in your midst; and one-third shall fall by the sword all around you; and ^(B)I will scatter another third to all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after ^(C)them.

^16 (A)But I will spare a few of their men from the sword, from famine, and from pestilence, that they may declare all their abominations among the Gentiles wherever they go. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”

^22 (A)Yet behold, there shall be left in it a remnant who will be ^(B)brought out, both sons and daughters; surely they will come out to you, and ^(C)you will see their ways and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, all that I have brought upon it.
