⁸ Their ^(A)widows will be more numerous before Me
Than the sand of the seas;
I will bring against them, against the mother of a young man,
A ^(B)destroyer at noon;
I will suddenly bring down on her
Shock and horror.

² “Dispute with your mother, ^(A)dispute,
Because she is ^(B)not my wife, and I am not her husband;
But she must remove her ^(C)infidelity from her face
And her adultery from between her breasts,

⁵ For their mother has ^(A)committed prostitution;
She who conceived them has acted shamefully.
For she said, ‘^(B)I will go after my lovers,
Who ^(C)give me my bread and my water,
My wool and my flax, my ^(D)oil and my drink.’
