³ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ^(A)“Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. ^4 (B)Do not trust in these lying words, saying, ‘The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are these.’

⁵ “For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly ^(C)execute ^[a]judgment between a man and his neighbor, ⁶ if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, ^(D)or walk after other gods to your hurt, ^7 (E)then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in ^(F)the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.

¹⁶ And it shall be, if they will learn carefully the ways of My people, ^(A)to swear by My name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ as they taught My people to swear by Baal, then they shall be ^(B)established in the midst of My people.

²¹ “But ^(A)if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

¹¹ Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ^(A)‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked ^(B)turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For ^(C)why should you die, O house of Israel?’
