    so that he may bring rest(D) to their land,
    but unrest to those who live in Babylon.

New American Standard Bible

17 saying,

“We give You thanks, (A)Lord God, the Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to (B)reign. 18 And (C)the nations were enraged, and (D)Your wrath came, and (E)the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to [a]reward Your (F)bond-servants the prophets and the [b]saints and those who fear Your name, (G)the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

19 And (H)the [c]temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and (I)the ark of His covenant appeared in His [d]temple, and there were flashes of (J)lightning and sounds and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a (K)great [e]hailstorm.

17 saying:

    the One who is and who was,(C)
because you have taken your great power
    and have begun to reign.(D)
18 The nations were angry,(E)
    and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,(F)
    and for rewarding your servants the prophets(G)
and your people who revere your name,
    both great and small(H)—
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

19 Then God’s temple(I) in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant.(J) And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder,(K) an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.(L)
