Prophecy against Ammon
49 Concerning the sons of (A)Ammon. This is what the Lord says:
“Does Israel have no sons?
Or has he no heirs?
Why then has [a]Malcam taken possession of Gad,
And his people settled in its cities?
2 Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“When I will cause an alarm of (B)war to be heard
Against (C)Rabbah of the sons of Ammon;
And it will become a desolate heap,
And her (D)towns will be set on fire.
Then Israel will take (E)possession of his possessors,”
Says the Lord.
3 “Wail, (F)Heshbon, for (G)Ai has been destroyed!
Cry out, daughters of Rabbah,
(H)Put on sackcloth and mourn,
And move about inside the walls;
For [b]Malcam will (I)go into exile
Together with his priests and his leaders.
4 How you (J)boast about the valleys!
Your valley is flowing away,
You (K)backsliding daughter
Who trusts in her (L)treasures, saying,
‘(M)Who can come against me?’
5 Behold, I am going to bring (N)terror upon you,”
Declares the Lord [c]God of armies,
“From all directions around you;
And you will be (O)driven away [d]one after another,
With no one to gather the (P)fugitives together.
6 But afterward I will (Q)restore
The fortunes of the sons of Ammon,”
Declares the Lord.

A Message About Ammon
49 Concerning the Ammonites:(A)
This is what the Lord says:
“Has Israel no sons?
Has Israel no heir?
Why then has Molek[a](B) taken possession of Gad?(C)
Why do his people live in its towns?
2 But the days are coming,”
declares the Lord,
“when I will sound the battle cry(D)
against Rabbah(E) of the Ammonites;
it will become a mound of ruins,(F)
and its surrounding villages will be set on fire.
Then Israel will drive out
those who drove her out,(G)”
says the Lord.
3 “Wail, Heshbon,(H) for Ai(I) is destroyed!
Cry out, you inhabitants of Rabbah!
Put on sackcloth(J) and mourn;
rush here and there inside the walls,
for Molek(K) will go into exile,(L)
together with his priests and officials.
4 Why do you boast of your valleys,
boast of your valleys so fruitful?
Unfaithful Daughter Ammon,(M)
you trust in your riches(N) and say,
‘Who will attack me?’(O)
5 I will bring terror on you
from all those around you,”
declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.
“Every one of you will be driven away,
and no one will gather the fugitives.(P)
6 “Yet afterward, I will restore(Q) the fortunes of the Ammonites,”
declares the Lord.

25 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face against the (A)sons of Ammon and prophesy against them, 3 and say to the sons of Ammon, ‘Hear the word of the Lord [a]God! This is what the Lord God says: “Because you said, ‘(B)Aha!’ against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into exile, 4 therefore, behold, I am going to give you to the [b](C)people of the east as a possession, and they will set up their encampments among you and make their dwellings among you; they will (D)eat your fruit and drink your milk. 5 I will make (E)Rabbah a pasture for camels, and the sons of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” 6 For this is what the Lord God says: “Because you have (F)clapped your hands and stamped your feet, and have (G)rejoiced with all the malice in your soul against the land of Israel, 7 therefore, behold, I have (H)reached out with My hand against you and I will give you as (I)plunder to the nations. And I will (J)cut you off from the peoples and (K)eliminate you from the lands. I will exterminate you. So you will (L)know that I am the Lord.”
Moab
8 ‘The Lord God says this: “Because (M)Moab and Seir say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’ 9 therefore, behold, I am going to [c]deprive the flank of Moab of its cities, of its cities [d]which are on its frontiers, the glory of the land, (N)Beth-jeshimoth, (O)Baal-meon, and (P)Kiriathaim; 10 and I will give it as a possession along with the sons of Ammon to the [e](Q)people of the east, so that the sons of Ammon will not be remembered among the nations.

This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you said “Aha!(D)” over my sanctuary when it was desecrated(E) and over the land of Israel when it was laid waste and over the people of Judah when they went into exile,(F) 4 therefore I am going to give you to the people of the East(G) as a possession. They will set up their camps(H) and pitch their tents among you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.(I) 5 I will turn Rabbah(J) into a pasture for camels and Ammon into a resting place for sheep.(K) Then you will know that I am the Lord. 6 For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you have clapped your hands(L) and stamped your feet, rejoicing with all the malice of your heart against the land of Israel,(M) 7 therefore I will stretch out my hand(N) against you and give you as plunder(O) to the nations. I will wipe you out from among the nations and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy(P) you, and you will know that I am the Lord.(Q)’”
A Prophecy Against Moab
8 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Because Moab(R) and Seir(S) said, “Look, Judah has become like all the other nations,” 9 therefore I will expose the flank of Moab, beginning at its frontier towns—Beth Jeshimoth(T), Baal Meon(U) and Kiriathaim(V)—the glory of that land. 10 I will give Moab along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, so that the Ammonites will not be remembered(W) among the nations;
