And (A)I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places (B)as at the first. I will (C)cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me. (D)Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall (E)fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.’

10 “Thus says the Lord: ‘Again there shall be heard in this place—(F)of which you say, “It is desolate, without man and without beast”—in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast, 11 the (G)voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say:

(H)“Praise the Lord of hosts,
For the Lord is good,
For His mercy endures forever”—

and of those who will bring (I)the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,’ says the Lord.

I will bring Judah(A) and Israel back from captivity[a](B) and will rebuild(C) them as they were before.(D) I will cleanse(E) them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive(F) all their sins of rebellion against me. Then this city will bring me renown,(G) joy, praise(H) and honor(I) before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble(J) at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.’

10 “This is what the Lord says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people or animals.”(K) Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted,(L) inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more 11 the sounds of joy and gladness,(M) the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings(N) to the house of the Lord, saying,

“Give thanks to the Lord Almighty,
    for the Lord is good;(O)
    his love endures forever.”(P)

For I will restore the fortunes(Q) of the land as they were before,(R)’ says the Lord.
