46 ^(A)Bel has bowed down, Nebo stoops over;
Their idols have become loads for the animals and the cattle.
The things ^[a]that you carry are burdensome,
A load for the weary animal.

Proclaim it and ^(B)lift up a flag,
Do not conceal it. Say,
‘^(C)Babylon has been captured,
^(D)Bel has been put to shame, ^[a]Marduk has been ^[b]shattered;
Her ^(E)idols have been put to shame, her images have been shattered.’
