    before their eyes;
their houses will be plundered
    and their wives ravished.

^16 [a] Samaria ^(A)shall bear her guilt,
    because ^(B)she has rebelled against her God;
they shall fall by the sword;
    ^(C)their little ones shall be dashed in pieces,
    and their ^(D)pregnant women ripped open.

^10 (A)Yet she became an exile;
    she went into captivity;
^(B)her infants were dashed in pieces
    at the head of every street;
for her honoured men ^(C)lots were cast,
    ^(D)and all her great men were bound in chains.

⁹ Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones
    and ^(A)dashes them against the rock!

¹⁴ therefore ^(A)the tumult of war shall arise among your people,
    and all your fortresses shall be destroyed,
as ^(B)Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel on the day of battle;
    ^(C)mothers were dashed in pieces with their children.
