Then shall thy light break forth as the dawn, and thy health shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee, the glory of Jehovah shall be thy rearguard.

Then your light will break forth like the dawn,(A)
    and your healing(B) will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a](C) will go before you,
    and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.(D)
Then you will call,(E) and the Lord will answer;(F)
    you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
    with the pointing finger(G) and malicious talk,(H)
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
    and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,(I)
then your light(J) will rise in the darkness,
    and your night will become like the noonday.(K)
