8 The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra,
and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den.
9 (A)They shall not hurt or destroy
in all (B)my holy mountain;
(C)for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.
10 In that day (D)the root of (E)Jesse, who shall stand as (F)a signal for the peoples—of him shall the nations enquire, and his resting-place shall be glorious.

8 The infant(A) will play near the cobra’s den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s(B) nest.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy(C)
on all my holy mountain,(D)
for the earth(E) will be filled with the knowledge(F) of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.
