⁷ Then the Lord said, “^(A)I will wipe out mankind whom I have created from the face of the land; mankind, and animals as well, and crawling things, and the birds of the sky. For ^(B)I am sorry that I have made them.”

²⁰ Therefore this is what the Lord ^[a]God says: “Behold, My ^(A)anger and My wrath will be poured out on this place, on human and animal life, and on the ^(B)trees of the field and the fruit of the ground; and it will burn and not be quenched.”

²⁷ You shall say this to them: ‘This is what the Lord God says: “As I live, those who are in the places of ruins certainly will ^(A)fall by the sword, and whoever is in the ^[a]open field I will give to the animals to be devoured, and those who are in the strongholds and in the ^(B)caves will die of plague. ²⁸ And I will ^(C)make the land a desolation and a waste, and the ^(D)pride of her power will be brought to an end; and the mountains of Israel will be deserted so that no one will pass through.
