⁴ But Jacob did not send Benjamin,^(A) Joseph’s brother, with the others, because he was afraid that harm might come to him.^(B)

¹⁶ When Joseph saw Benjamin^(A) with them, he said to the steward of his house,^(B) “Take these men to my house, slaughter an animal and prepare a meal;^(C) they are to eat with me at noon.”

²⁹ As he looked about and saw his brother Benjamin, his own mother’s son,^(A) he asked, “Is this your youngest brother, the one you told me about?”^(B) And he said, “God be gracious to you,^(C) my son.”

¹² “You can see for yourselves, and so can my brother Benjamin,^(A) that it is really I who am speaking to you.^(B)

¹⁴ Then he threw his arms around his brother Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin^(A) embraced him,^(B) weeping.
