Covenant Circumcision

17 When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him, saying, “I am God Almighty.^(A) Live in My presence and be blameless.^(B)

⁴ and so that the Lord will carry out His promise that He made to me: ‘If your sons are careful to walk faithfully before Me with their whole mind and heart,^(A) you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’^(B)

⁶ And Solomon replied, “You have shown great and faithful love to Your servant, my father David, because he walked before You in faithfulness, righteousness, and^[a] integrity. You have continued this great and faithful love for him by giving him a son to sit on his throne,^(A) as it is today.^(B)

²³ He said:

⁵ Hezekiah trusted in the Lord God of Israel;^(A) not one of the kings of Judah was like him, either before him or after him.^{(B) 6} He remained faithful to Yahweh^(C) and did not turn from following Him but kept the commands the Lord had commanded Moses.
