⁵ They called out to Lot and said, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Send them out to us so we can have sex with them!” ^(A)

¹³ If a man sleeps with a man as with a woman,^(A) they have both committed a detestable act.^(B) They must be put to death; their death is their own fault.

¹⁸ Do not bring a female prostitute’s wages or a male prostitute’s^[a] earnings into the house of the Lord your God to fulfill any vow, because both are detestable to the Lord your God.

From Idolatry to Depravity

²⁶ For this reason God delivered them over to disgraceful passions.^(A) Their women^[a] exchanged natural sexual relations^[b] for unnatural ones. ²⁷ The men^[c] in the same way also left natural relations with women and were inflamed in their lust for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men^(B) and received in their own persons^[d] the appropriate penalty of their error.

⁹ Don’t you know that the unrighteous^(A) will not inherit God’s kingdom?^(B) Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters,^(C) adulterers,^(D) or males who have sex with males,^{[a](E) 10} no thieves,^(F) greedy^(G) people, drunkards, verbally abusive people,^(H) or swindlers^(I) will inherit God’s kingdom. ¹¹ And some of you used to be like this.^(J) But you were washed, you were sanctified,^(K) you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
