Abram replied to Sarai, “Here, your slave is in your hands; do whatever you want with her.” Then Sarai mistreated her so much that she ran away from her.

The Angel of the Lord(A) found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur. He said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?”

She replied, “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai.”

“Your slave is in your hands,(A)” Abram said. “Do with her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai mistreated(B) Hagar; so she fled from her.

The angel of the Lord(C) found Hagar near a spring(D) in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.(E) And he said, “Hagar,(F) slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?”(G)

But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
