4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5 He therefore that gives unto you the Spirit and does works of power among you, does he do it by the works of the law or by the obedient ear of faith?
6 ¶ Even as Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

4 Have you experienced[a] so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles(A) among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?(B) 6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”[b](C)
