Ezekiel 36:18-20
New International Reader's Version
18 They spilled people’s blood in the land. They made the land ‘unclean’ by worshiping other gods. So I poured out my great anger on them. 19 I scattered them among the nations. I sent them to other countries. I judged them based on how they acted and on how they lived. 20 They treated my name as if it were not holy. They did it everywhere they went among the nations. People said about them, ‘They are the Lord’s people. But they were forced to leave his land.’

18 So I poured out(A) my wrath on them because they had shed blood in the land and because they had defiled it with their idols. 19 I dispersed them among the nations, and they were scattered(B) through the countries; I judged them according to their conduct and their actions.(C) 20 And wherever they went among the nations they profaned(D) my holy name, for it was said of them, ‘These are the Lord’s people, and yet they had to leave his land.’(E)
